At The Market at Grelen, we believe gardens offer space for reflection — where creativity and intention take root. They are places that cultivate community and allow connection to flourish.

As we mark 250 years, we’ve chosen to honor the landscape — gardens, parks, preserves, arboreta, and historic grounds that shape our region. The Grelen Garden Guide is our curated collection of 250 public gardens, parks, and nature destinations within 250 miles* of The Market at Grelen in Somerset, Virginia — a circle reflecting the rich historic, horticultural and natural landscape within our area.

All of the gardens and grounds on this list are living places of beauty and stewardship. They hold memories and outlast generations. Most importantly, they carry hope forward. In our current world full of contradiction and conflict, we invite you to slow down, wander, gather, and reflect on the beauty that connects us all.

*Mileage is approximate. The 250 destinations were determined using a straight-line radius (“as the crow flies”) rather than driving distance.
